The Trout Farm is home to 1½ million young trout which are raised here, destined for the dinner table or for re-stocking rivers throughout the country Visitors who try their hand with a rod and line are almost guaranteed a catch .
The arches of lime kilns can be seen to the west of the line Limestone was needed to fertilize the fields further north and the supply at Pickering was a key reason why the line was built Limestone is still quarried a little further along the line near New Bridge. Pickering Station
