The Pickering Wagon Group was formed in 1993 and is made up of members of the Scarborough Railway Society who are working volunteers on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

The purpose of the group is to restore, maintain and service 21 wagons, which are based on the NYMR. These wagons date from as early as 1926 to the youngest one built in 1962 and are owned by a variety of people e.g The Chairman of the NYMR,The Timothy Hackworth Museum and not forgetting the Railway itself. |
| Since its inception the group has restored over 23
vehicles and each year also examines which run during the Gala Weekends on the

The Pickering Wagon group is always looking out for new volunteers who are interested in railways and who are willing to give of their spare time in the pursuits of preserving and maintaining the heritage of the NYMR.
